Summerville, PA (HTRP)-- A woman is accused of stealing nearly $82,000 from her previous employer.
Police say that this comes after an investigation into a former Community County Services employee, 38-year-old Samantha Browne, of Summerville.
Brown was previosly employed by the agency from March 2023 to August 2024, and oversaw billing, payments, payroll, and reimbersements.
Polics say that she gave herself a $19 per hour pay increase and also forged a check for $19,000.
Accroding to police she embezzled a total of $81,918.75 , and is now charged with theft by unlawful taking, theft by deception, and forgery.
